capillaries have walls which are only one cell thick. Justify the following statement
ojasvi215:
Capillaries are made of one layer of simple squamous epithelial cells i.e. endothelium. This helps in easy diffusion of food and oxygen from blood to the cells and tissues. Also useful for diffusion of waste e.g. CO2 from cells to the blood

The one-cell thickness of the walls of the capillaries makes them very thin and hence permeable.
The cells take up useful substances from the tissue fluid and give out the waste substance in the tissue fluid.
The substances from capillaries can easily diffuse in or diffuse out between the capillaries and the tissues fluid easily due the permeability of capillaries.

it is true. capillaries have walls that are only one cell thick. we can justify this by seeing the functions of the capillaries. The usable substance from the hormone has to diffuse from the capillaries to the outside so they need thin walls so that important substances can pass through the capillaries and onto the target place.
