The answer is Jahangir.
Captain William Hawkins visited the court of the Mughal emperor Jahangir.
William Hawkins visited Jahangir’s court with the intention of negotiating the consent for setting up a factory. He reached the emperor’s court in April 1609 and stayed there for close to three years. Jahangir was very impressed with Hawkins and it was this ability of the latter to be in the ruler’s good books that helped him obtain the required license and overcome all difficulties associated in procuring it.
