Car A is travelling along a straight road with an acceleration of 2ms 2 trying to catch up with car B
which is moving along the same direction as A with an acceleration of -2 ms. At a given instant,
when the separation between the cars is 20 m, A and B have velocities of 2ms- and 12ms,
respectively. After what time A will catch up with B ?

Answer:

time taken=root(10+5t)

Explanation:

Final Position of A=Final Position of B

Initial Position+ut+1/2at^2=Initial Position of B+ut+1/2at^2

0+2t+t^2=20+12t-t^2

2t^2=20+10t

2t^2=10(2+t)

t^2=5(2+t)

t=root (5(2+t))

=root (10+5t)
