Car a of mass 1500 kg travelling at 25m/s collides with another car b of mass 1000kg trav elling at 15m/s in same direction . After collision velocity of cara becomes 20m/s . Calculate the velocity of car b after collision

Here,

In collision total linear momentum of two bodies is conserved

i.e. Initial momentum = final momentum

m1*u1+m2*u2 = m1*v1+m2*v2

1500*25+1000*15=1500*20+1000*v2

37500+15000=30000+1000*v2

52500=30000+1000*v2

22500=1000*v2

v2 = 22.5m/s
