As per the data given in the question.

A car cover a distance of 36km in 3liters,

We have to find 1) distance cover in 8 liters,

2)Petrol required to cover a distance of 216km.

Thus, car can cover distance in 1 liter is as bellow,

 = \frac{36}{3} \\ = 12km

car cover 12km in 1 liter,

Therefore the car cover distance in 8 liters is as follows,

 = 12 \times 8 \\ = 96km

The car can cover a distance of 96km in 8 liters.

Now the car required petrol for 216km is,

 = \frac{216}{12} \\ = 18liters

Hence 18 liters petrol required to cover 216km.
