Explanation:

In first half , the car moves with constant velocity . So, the graph will be parallel to s−axis in first half.

Now, 

a=v,ds/dv ...........(1)

Since a is constant and negative and v is decreasing im magnitude and positive .

So, from eqn (1) it is clear that 

dsdv is positive and its magnitude decreases. 

= ds/dv>0
