Answer:

Given:

Average velocity of car = 80 km/hr

Time taken = 10 seconds

To find:

Distance travelled

Conversion:

First convert speed from km to metres.

So,

80 km/hr = 80 × (5/18) = 22.22 m/s

Calculation:

distance \:  = speed \times time

 =  > distance \:  = 22.22 \times 10

 =  > distance \:  = 222.2 \: metres

So total distance travelled in 10 seconds

is 222.2 metres = 0.2222 km

Important information on distance:

1. Distance is the actual path traversed by an object

2. It is always positive.

3. It is different from displacement

4. Distance/time gives speed

5. But displacement/time gives velocity.

Hey there!

Given,

Average Speed = 80 km/h

Time = 10 s = 10/(60*60) h

Distance = ?

We know,

Distance = speed * time

               = 80 * 10/(60*60)

Distance  = 0.2222 km
