A car covers 20 km distance in = 1 litre petrol

So , the distance the car can cover in 1 and 1/4 litre petrol is =

= 20 × 1 / 4 = 20 / 4 ( or 20 ÷ 4 ) = 5 km

= 1 litre = 20 km

= 20 km + 5 km

= 25 km

Therefore , in 1 and 1/4 litres of petrol the car can cover 25 km
