GivEn:

  • Time taken by car = 10 s
  • Acceleration = 2 cm/s² = 0.02 m/s²

To find:

  • Distance covered by car?

SoluTion:

Here,

Car starts form rest.

Therefore,

  • Initial Velocity of car, u = 0 m/s

★ Using 1st equation of motion,

v = u + at

v = 0 + 0.02 × 10

v = 0.2 m/s

∴ Final Velocity of car is, v = 0.2 m/s

★ Now, Using 2nd equation of motion,

s = ut + ½at²

s = 0 × 10 + ½ × 0.02 × (10)²

s = 0 + ½ × 0.02 × 100

s = ½ × 2

s = 1 m

∴ Hence, Distance travelled by car in 10 sec is 1 m.
