GIVEN :-

  • Initial velocity of car = 20 km/hr
  • Final velocity of car = 60 km/hr
  • Time = 6 sec

TO FIND :-

  • Acceleration the given car

SOLUTION :-

We have ,

  • u = 20 km/hr
  • v = 60km/hr

 \bf \:  \implies \: 20 \: km. {hr}^{ - 1}  = \frac{5}{18}  \times 20 \: m {s}^{ - 1}   \\  \\  \implies \bf \:  20km. {hr}^{ - 1}  = 5.5 \: m {s}^{ - 1}  = u

Also,

 \implies \bf \: 60 \: km. {hr}^{ - 1}  =  \frac{5}{18}  \times 60 \: m {s}^{ - 1}  \\  \\  \implies \bf \: 60 \: km. {hr}^{ - 1}  = 16.6 \: m {s}^{ - 1}

Acceleration When change velocity is given is given by ,

\large  {\underline{\boxed {\red{ \bf{a=  \frac{v - u}{t} }}}}}

Where ,

  • a is acceleration
  • v is final velocity
  • u is initial velocity
  • t is time

We have ,

  • V = 16.6 m/s
  • u = 5.5 m/s
  • t = 6 sec

 \implies \bf \: a =  \frac{16.6 - 5.5}{6}  \\  \\  \implies \bf \: a =  \frac{11.4}{6}  \\  \\  \implies {\underline {\boxed {\blue {\bf {\: a = 1.9 \: m {s}^{ - 2}}}}}}

∴ The acceleration of the given body is 1.9 m/s²

ADDITIONAL INFO :-

★ Acceleration is a vector quantity hence it has both magnitude and direction.

★ The units of acceleration are m/s² and cm/s²

★ Acceleration has a dimensional formula of [ L T⁻² ]
