Answer:because of it's small size and formation of covalent compounds

Its catenation property..

Explanation:

Carbon is unique because it has four electrons therefore it can only make covalent covalent compound as well as its small size is responsible for the great number of bonds . This property of carbon is not followed by another element because it has two shell as well as four electrons in last shell this unique property is not shown in any e another element also the carbon is present in our environment therefore it is a a organic compound violin other elements doesn't like this

Answer:

This is because of the following factors:

1)CATENATION- The linking of identical atoms together to form long chains is called catenation. Carbon has the maximum tendency of catenation. Because of the property of catenation and stable C-C bond, carbon is able to form a very large number of compounds.

2)SMALL SIZE- Due to its small size, it forms strong bonds.

3)TETRA VALENCY- It is capable of bonding with four other atoms, this gives rise to a large number of compounds.

4)ISOMERISM- Different compounds which have same molecular formula and molecular mass but have different structural arrangements of atoms, are known as isomers and the phenomenon is called isomerism. This also accounts for the existence of a large number of organic compounds.
