The process of respiration produces energy for organisms by combining glucose with oxygen from the air. During cellular respiration, glucose and oxygen are changed into energy and carbon dioxide. Therefore, carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere during the process of cellular respiration.

Through the process of photosynthesis, carbon dioxide is pulled from the air to produce food made from carbon for plant growth. Carbon moves from plants to animals. Through food chains, the carbon that is in plants moves to the animals that eat them. Animals that eat other animals get the carbon from their food too.

Respiration is a biochemical process during which simple carbohydrates, like glucose, are broken down to release energy. Every cell of a living organism- man, animal and plant, respires. ... Carbon dioxide reacts with lime water on respiration to form calcium carbonate (CaCO3) that turns lime water milky.
