HELLO!!

ANSWER:

Carbon has to share its electron with other atoms to get a stable electronic configuration.

It cannot lose or gain electrons because it needs a large amount of energy to lose or gain 4 electrons.

1)Carbon has 4 valence electrons in its outermost shell .
2)Carbon has to either gain four electrons or has to loose four electrons. Protons in atom cannot hold extra 4 electrons or hold 2 electrons.
3)Energy required is very high due to which carbon forms by sharing of electrons which we call it as covalent bond.
4)Carbon forms bond with other atoms of carbon or with any other monovalent compound to attain stable or noble electronic configuration
