Carbon is tetravalent, at the same time Silicon is also tetravalent. But why there is so much complications related to Carbon, and why are we studying the chapter 'Carbon and it's compounds' and not 'Silicon and its compounds' ? I want to know...

the question is nice and i appriceate it

the carbon is used in daily life compared to silicon and it has several allotropes(graphite) which we learns in higher studies and the ability of carbon for making long chains give it a special out look and it can also form ring compounds which silicon cannot and carbon forms bonds in covalent method which makes it weak and at sane time reactive so carbom has its own speciality to have a seperate branch in chemistry called organic chemistry
