Carbon monoxide is poisonous because it is capable of forming a complex with haemoglobin (carboxyhaemoglobin), which is more stable than the oxygen-haemoglobin complex.

Carbon monoxide gas is a Very dangerous as haemoglobin in human blood has more affinity for carbon monoxide than carbon dioxide and oxygen. So our haemoglobin would take only carbon monoxide which is very harmful and sometimes cause to death
