The formula of carbon dioxide is CO2. Now, for every 1 molecule of carbon, there are 2 molecules of oxygen.

Atomic Mass of Carbon=12

Atomic Mass of Oxygen=16

Hence, for every 12 g of carbon, there are 32 g of oxygen.

It can further be reduced to: For every 3 g of carbon, there are 4 g of oxygen.

If 20 grams of carbon react to form carbon dioxide, 20×4÷3 grams of oxygen will react...

Mass of oxygen= 80÷3 = 26.67 grams

Hope it helps....

C+O2---->CO2

12g of carbon--->44g of co2

20gm of carbon---> ?

= 20*44/12

= 73.3 g of co2

take o2--->co2

32g of o2---->44 g of co2

?            -----> 73.3 g of co2

32*73.3/44

=53.3 g of o2
