Answer : neon

Explaination : atomic number of carbon is 6 so it needs to share 4 electrons..when it shares 4 electrons..now it has total (6+4) 10 electrons so it's electronic configuration becomes 2,8 and neon's electronic configuration is 2,8 ..hence the answer is neon
