empirical formula        =  (CH)ₙ

molecular formula    =    C₂H₂

Explanation:

molar mass = 25.98

let total mass be 100 gram

mass of C =92.32

mass of H = 7.68

relative no of moles  of C = 92.32 / 12

                                             = 7.69

relative no of moles  of  H = 7.68/ 1

                                          = 7.68

simplest mole ratio = relative no of moles  of C  / relative no of moles  of  H

                              = 7.69 / 7.68

                              = 1

Empirical formula = (CH )ₙ

as molar mass = 25.98

molar mass of CH = 12+1 = 13

n = 25.98 /13

  = 2

MOLECULAR FORMULA = (CH)₂

                                             = C₂H₂
