P(divisible by 10) = 9/90 = 1/10 =0.1

P(a perfect square) = 6/90

P(prime no less than 25) = 5/90

That's all !!

The required probabilities are \frac{1}{10} ,\frac{1}{15} and \frac{1}{10}.

Given:

Cards marked with all 2 digit numbers are placed in a box

To Find:

If one card is drawn at random, the probability that the number is

1) Divisible by 10

2) A perfect square

3) A prime number less than 25

Solution:

We can simply solve this problem by using the following mathematical process.

The two digit numbers are 10, 11, 12, 13, .......,99

Total number of two digit numbers = (99−9) = 90

1) To find the probability of the number being divisible by 10

Favourable outcomes are = (10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90)

Number of favourable outcomes = 9

P(Divisible by 10) = Number of favourable outcomes ÷ Total number of outcomes

Probability = \frac{9}{90}

Probability = \frac{1}{10}

2) To find the probability of the number being a perfect square

Favourable outcomes are = (16,25,36,49,64,81)

Number of favourable outcomes = 6

P(A perfect square number) = Number of favourable outcomes ÷ Total number of outcomes

Probability = \frac{6}{90}

Probability = \frac{1}{15}

3) To find the probability of the number being a prime number less than 25

Favourable outcomes are = (2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19,23)

Number of favourable outcomes = 9

P(A prime number less than 25) = Number of favourable outcomes ÷ Total number of outcomes

Probability = \frac{9}{90}

Probability = \frac{1}{10}

Hence, the required probabilities are \frac{1}{10} ,\frac{1}{15} and \frac{1}{10}.
