Answer:

The probability that the selected card bears a perfect square number is \frac{1}{8}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Card marked with 3,4,5..........50 are placed in a box and mixed thoroughly. A card is drawn at random from the box.

To find : The probability that the selected card bears a perfect square number?

Solution :

Card marked with 3,4,5..........50

Total number of cards = 50-2=48

Now,

\text{Probability}=\frac{\text{Favorable outcome}}{\text{Total number of outcome}}

Favorable outcome(a perfect square number) :  4,9,16,25,36,49

So, Favorable outcome = 6

Total number of outcome = 48

\text{Probability}=\frac{6}{48}\\\\\text{Probability}=\frac{1}{8}

Therefore, The probability that the selected card bears a perfect square number is \frac{1}{8}
