Cards marked with number 3, 4, 5,...., 50 are placed in a box and mixed thoroughly. A card is drawn at random forn the box. Find the probability that the selected card bears a perfect square number.

Here is your answer.....

No. of observations = 48

Now we know that 2^(2), 3^(2) , 4^(2) ,5^(2) ,6^(2) ,7^(2) are lying between numbers 3 - 50 so

Therefore no. of favourable outcomes = 6

Probability = favourable outcomes/no. Of observations

= 56/48 = 1/8 =0.125
