Given :  Cards numbered 9 to 50

a card is selected at random from it,

To Find : probability that card is a multiple of 4

a) 6/25 b) 5/21 c) 4/19 d) 3/17

Solution:

Cards numbered 9 to 50

Total Cards  = 42

n(S) = 42

Multiples of 4

12 , 16 , 20 , 24 , 28 , 32 , 36 , 40 , 44 , 48

Ten cards are Multiple of 4

n(E) = 10

E is the event of   selecting a card multiple of 4

P(E) = n(E)/n(S)

= 10/42

= 5/21

probability that card is a multiple of 4 is:  5/21

Correct option is b) 5/21
