What they did was not entirely political..
The africans in the states were facing a lot of problems so the athletes raised their voices and represented black poverty.
The matter was beyond politics.

Hey, I would have to say that what Carlos and Smith did was political. The reason I say that it was political is because when doing something political it has to do with the affairs of the country which is a america. So, what they did which was for the matter for the american society does relate to the political area.
