Carolus linaeus gave the two kingdom classification.Later it was changed by Ernest haeckel , Whittaker gave the five kingdom classification.
Do u think that studying about the work done by earlier scientists or their obsolete theories is useful for students of this generation?

Hello Mate!
Thanks for this question!
I will surely try to answer in best way which may be clear to you.
Scientists like Carl Linnaeus's two Kingdom theory was based in presence and absence of cell wall. Therefore it was divided into plants and animals. But since science is full if discoveries, soon 3 kingdoms were added and finally 5 kingdoms by RH Whittaker.
Why the theories either correct or wrong are told to us?
1. Theories either by Carl Linneaus or by R.H Whittaker tells about the science of that time. Carl at that time realised only two living substances on earth, one animal and ither plant. But soon with discoveries of bacterias, cynobacteria, protozoans and fungi new kingdoms were formed. Thus, getting through each theory enables us to understand the division done on the specific basis.
2. We all know that in very past, animals were classified on basis if habitat as terristial, aquatic and arial. But it wasn't logical, because whale is completely different from fishes though it's aquatic. Hence, atleast Carl divided animals and plants, two basics life in biology.
3. Science and theories keep on changing with time. No theory is guaranteed to be permanent. May be theoey today will become wrong in future. But a theory id never useless. Carl Linnaeus's theory helped R.H Whittaker to do further classification. Scientists may orove theories wrong but anyhow theory states some or the other fact which is used as key for incoming generations.
Salute to whole world'e scientist for their fabulous work.
Have great future ahead!
