Carry out an activity to converge the rays of sunlight. Take convex lens and a white

sheet of paper. Focus the rays of the sunlight through the lens onto the paper. Tilt the

lens such that you find a sharp whitish yellow point on the paper. Observe what

happens. Why does the paper burn? Note down your observation.

ANSWER

all the rays are brought together at a one point if they are concave they spread the rays but convex is quite opposite to concave so whenever sunlight is concentrated at a paper placed at the principal focus of convex lens the paper burns
