Cars have changed the way we travel. However, some people believe that there are more disadvantages of the car than its advantages.

Cars have both advantages and disadvantages. But I think in the current era, a car is more advantageous. I have following points to defend it:

• Many people would argue that a car is bad for the environment because it produces noise and air pollution. But now, in the era of electric cars, that argument doesn’t bode well. In the next 20-30 years, the concept of gasoline of diesel cars in many of the countries would soon die.

• Some would also argue that cars cause lots of accidents. This is still true, but with companies like Tesla, which has revolutionized the car industry, are taking extreme measure security measures for the passengers and developing models of cars which provide great security for the passengers.

• Transportation companies, like Careem and Uber, have provided great facility to the people who don’t own a car or don’t know how to drive, the move to different places. This is also a mean of earning money for people who have some spare time and want to utilize it into something beneficial, which consequently, has increased job opportunities in many countries and decreased unemployment rate.

Agreed. Cars have definitely changed the way we travel. While car has been advantageous to people, we cannot refute the fact that car also has certain disadvantages

• Some of the advantages of using a car for travel purpose is flexibility. When we use a car for travel we drive at our pace and simply enjoy the freedom of travelling, and we can stop wherever and whenever we want. Another benefit of car travelling is that it saves us some money, when we do carpooling wherein we can share the car with our colleagues or friends while going to office or any other common destination, thus saving fuel expense. However while these are some of the advantages, there are several disadvantages.
• Travelling by car during bad weather can impact on our trip. Snow, rain, and storms can change driving conditions and even ruin our road trip if we are not prepared. Also car maintenance is not that easy, as the car’s age get longer the depreciation cost and cost of overhaul increases sharply. Car travel also substantially contributes to greenhouse gas emission. With more people being able to afford cars, traffic congestion has increased and emissions from these cars degrades the ambient air quality and resulting in excess morbidity and mortality for commuters, drivers, and individuals around.
