Explanation:

  • If object is above x axis then its height will be positive and if it is below the axis then it will be negative....
  • Objet distance is always taken as negative....
  • if image is formed in side of object then it will be negative and if it is opposite to object side then it will be positive....

  • consider everything in side of object will be negative...
  • if image is formed below the axis then negative sign and vice versa.....
