Cartilagenous fishes of the class Chondrichtheis have to swim constantly as they lack swim/air bladder in them... secondly they have to swim constantly so as to let oxygen rich water flow through their gills

Answer:

Air bladder is absent in case of chondrichthyes, so they have to swim constantly to avoid sinking.
