An object appearing to be at rest to one person may appear to be in motion to another person at the same time. This is the best way to explain that motion is relative in nature For example, a boy standing in the field finds that trees along the boundaries are at rest.  but for a boy riding a bicycle finds that trees appear to move in the opposite direction of his motion.
