Given : A building is made by keeping the lower window of a building at a particular height above the ground and upper window is constructed at some height vertically above the lower window. Position of both windows are shown in diagram.
Both windows are designed and constructed in order to have proper sun light.
To Find : (A) LENGTH BQ( in terms of H )
(B) LENGTH AR( in terms of H )
HEIGHT H =
DISTANCE PC =
SR =
Solution:
Tan 60° = SQ/BQ
=> √3 = (h - 2) / BQ
=> BQ = ( h - 2)/√3
Tan 30° = SR/AR
SR = h - 2 - 6 = h - 8 m
=> 1/√3 = (h - 8) / AR
=> AR = ( h -8)√3
AR = BQ
( h - 2)/√3 = ( h -8)√3
=> h - 2 = 3(h - 8)
=> h - 2 = 3h - 24
=> 2h = 22
=> h = 11
PC = BQ = ( h -8)√3 = 3√3
SR = 11 - 8 = 3 m
