Cottage industries are small scale industries. The annual turnover from this sector is very less in comparison to other large scale industries. But must of the work in these industries is done manually. It increases employment opportunities but due to small wages or profit, it doesn't attract people towards it. As a result cottage industries are on a set back in their positions in India.
