Part A: The surface of the pool

Part B: The height of the slide is a postitive number in height, so, this means the height of the slide is above the starting point/surface of the water.

Part C: The bottom of the pole was at a depth of 2 feet. This means that Casey should mark the level of the bottom of the pole as -2 or negative 2. This is because it is IN the pool not ABOVE the pool. Or, it is rather under the surface and not above the surface.
