cells can be categorised into 2 types based on the presence and absence of nuclear membrane-
1. eukaryotic cells: they have a nuclear membrane and a well defined nucleus. eg- plant and animal cells
2. prokaryotic cells: they do not have a nuclear membrane and thus don't have a well defined nucleus. eg- bacteria.
