According to the question,

The charge for x persons by caterer A,

100 + 15x

And, the charge for x person by caterer B,

50 + 20x

Thus, 100 + 15x = 50 + 20x

⇒  100 - 5x = 50     ( By subtracting 20x on both sides)

⇒ 100 - 50 - 5x = 0 (  By subtracting 50 on both sides)

⇒ 50 - 5x = 0

⇒ -5x = -50    

⇒ x = 10 ( Dividing both sides by -5)

Thus, For 10 guests, the cost of Caterer A be the same as the cost of Caterer B
