heating effect of current means wire containing current becomes warm as due to current .

◆CAUSE OF HEATING EFFECT OF CURRENT :
•first of all, heating effect of current means the rise in temperature of the conductor when current is passed through it.
•now, when electric field is setup in the conductor, the free electrons in the conductor become active in the direction opposite to the direction of electric field.
•they suffer collisions with atoms of the conductor, which is also called resistance.
•due to this , the average kinetic energy of atoms and ions is increased.
•and this causes heating effect ie rise in temperature of conductor.
