With the conflict of succession within the Mughal empire and the strenghthining of the Ahom forces.
The Ahom forces decided to take advantage of the situation and also another factor was when Guwahati was taken back by the Ahom army they became even more stronger which made the fall of the Mughals even more ineveitable.
