causes of earthquake
Answers
Earthquakes are caused by a sudden release of stress along faults in the earth's crust. The continuous motion of tectonic plates causes a steady build-up of pressure in the rock strata on both sides of a fault until the stress is sufficiently great that it is released in a sudden, jer ky movement.
Hope it helps!!!!!!
We now know that the earth has different layers. Scientists have divided the earth into four major layers - crust, mantle, outer core and inner core.
Mantle: The central region of the earth is called mantle. It is mostly made of dense, solid rocks. Heat coming from the core of earth warms the mantle.
Core: The innermost part of the earth is called its core. The core of earth is made up mostly of iron. It is extremely hot. Most of the earth's core is liquid, whereas the inner part of core is under such high pressure that it is solid.
Crust: The outermost layer of the earth is called crust. It is made up of lighter rocks then the rocks found in the mental. The reason of the crust with continents is thicker that the crust on see bed. The crust is made up of many whose species of flat rock called plates. Those plates upon which continents exits are called continental plates. Whereas those plates with ocean upon and they are called oceanic plates.
Fact :-
In ancient times, people believed that the earth is balanced on one of the horns of a cow, and when the cow shifts it to the other horn, an earthquake takes place.
