Greenhouse gases trap heat radiating from Earth to space. This heat, in the form of infrared radiation, gets absorbed and emitted by these gases in the planet's atmosphere warming the lower atmosphere and the surface.Global warming is projected to have a number of effects on the oceans. Ongoing effects include rising sea levels due to thermal expansion and melting of glaciers and ice sheets, and warming of the ocean surface, leading to increased temperature stratification. The term "climate change" is often used to refer specifically to anthropogenic climate change (also known as global warming). Anthropogenic climate change is caused by human activity, as opposed to changes in climate that may have resulted as part of Earth's natural processes.Greenhouse gases cause the greenhouse effect. The primary greenhouse gases in Earth's atmosphere are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and ozone. The effects of global warming include its effects on human health. The observed and projected increased frequency and severity of climate related impacts will further exacerbate the effects on human health. The effects of global warming include its effects on human health. Specific impacts include: Warmer water temperatures affect water quality and accelerate water pollution.

GLOBAL WARMING:-

Global warming refers to the rise in the temperature of our planet Earth. Due to the increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere due to human activities it is continuously causing a rise in temperature.

Causes of global warming are:-

  • One of the most responsible factor of global warming is burning of fossil fuels. When fossil fuels are burnt they emit a large amount of CO_2 in atmosphere.

  • Production of methane gas by animals is also a cause for global warming. Methane is a greenhouse gas thus contributing in global warming.

  • Industrialisation is also causing a great rise in the earths temperature. The harmful gases released by the factories entres the atmosphere and increase the temperature.

  • Deforestation has been increased at a great rate since some decades. Forests are cut down and the number of trees reduce considerably causing a fall in the agents soaking CO_2 from environment.
