Harita Haram was a tree planting drive started in the year 2015 by the government of Telengana in India .

The reasons behind starting this were :

1. To increase the forest cover of Telengana state from 24%- 33% within the time period set;

2. To increase afforestation and to decrease the amount of pollution in the state, thus making the state a better place for people to live in .
