Land pollution is caused due to many reasons like overuse of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, soil erosion by running water and wind, etc. Dumping of garbage in open areas is also a serious threat.

Here are the some causes of land pollution,
1) due to pesticides which farmers spread on their crops and in the rainy season the pesticides seep into land and also that is the groundwater.
2) dumping of waste on land
3) land pollution also occurs due to the dumping of or throwing of plastic bags
