Causes of underpopulation:-

  • Fertility rate:- The fertility rate in many developed and developing countries has dropped to about two children per woman due to factors like literacy, economic development or urbanisation, making the idea if having big families impractical.
  • Emigration:- Emigration is the movement of individuals from one country to another with the intention of permanently setting in their destination.
  • Disease:- Disease and illness have always caused a decrease in the population. The emergence of new diseases like HIV/AIDS has decreased the population globally.
  • Famine:- Famine is the scarcity of food cause due to the factors like crop failure.
