Answer:

Caustic soda is an alkali salt which is also called Lye. It is the common name of sodium hydroxide. This name is given due to the corrosive nature of this salt on animal and plant tissues. ... The chemical formula of sodium hydroxide is NaOH.

Deliquescent Nature

Deliquescent materials are substances (mostly salts) that have a strong affinity for moisture and will absorb relatively large amounts of water from the atmosphere if exposed to it, forming a liquid solution.

This is the type of material that Caustic soda (NaOH) represents. If you take a pellet of NaOH out of its reagent bottle and leave it on a watch glass in the open atmosphere it will turn into a puddle by picking up water from the atmosphere.

Hence NaOH is deliquescent.
