CCl4 is more covalent in nature sue to higher electronegativity of Carbon compared to Silicon
In the covalent compund of CCl4 due to its high electronegativity it attracts the shared pair of electrons making ot more covalent
while Si due to low electronegativity is relatively more ionic in nature hence
it goes under rapid decomposition
