In unicellular organisms all the important functions are carried out by the single cell because they lack all cellular organelles. The two types of reproduction i.e sexual and asexual need the involvement of many organelles and biomolecules . Hence, these modes of reproduction is absent in prokaryotes. Unicellular organisms are the simple organisms. Therefore, cell division acts as the mode of reproduction and results in the production of daughter cells
