reproduction is producing young ones from the existing species. in multicellular reproduction can be done by asexually sexually but in unicellular reproduction takes place by cell division because their single cell divides or splits into two daughter cells and their for conducting reproduction in unicellular and multicellular reproduction is different . according to the definition if you consider that it is producing from the species new young ones from the species then it means that there is a also process for unicellular to produce or produce young ones had to continue their species therefore unicellular do not perform reproduction but a simple same process like reproduction that is cell division
