In all eukaryotic algae (Chlorophyceae etc.), the nucleus is a well-organised spherical or elliptical body. It remains surrounded by a distinct nuclear membrane. The inner side is occupied by a chromatin reticulum embedded in a matrix called karyolymph. The nuclear membrane is double layered.
