Cells are the basic structural units of living organisms . Every life , even of the smallest living creature in this world has first started from a single cell . This is the first structural unit bcoz later when these cells begin to form tissues, then organs and then organ systems , that is only when the baby gets his/her structure. It is the basic unit bcoz all the other cells , tissues , organs and organ systems are formed only when the first single cell divides on and on to form more cells whichin turn divide to form some of the largest organ system in our body. This is the biology of life.
