Cells exist in different shapes; three examples are given below:
- Red blood corpuscles, abbreviated as RBC are blood cells, which are round or spherical in shape.
- Muscle cells in the human body are long and the ends are pointed. Thus, muscle cells are spindle-shaped.
- Nerve cells in the human body are very long and branched to receive and send messages. Thus, nerve cells are elongated cells.
Some cells like white blood corpuscles have no fixed shape, they can change their shape!
From the above examples, it is clear that the cells exist in different shapes.
