Cells of the tissue have dense cytoplasm, thin cellulose walls and prominent nuclei. The tissue is (d) parenchyma

  • Parenchyma tissue can be identified by the presence of a dense cytoplasm and presence of nuclei generally on the periphery.
  • These tissue can be present in any shape and size like round , oval etc.
  • Other characteristics like presence of intercellular spaces, cellulosic cell wall can be used to distinguish it with other tissues.
  • It has functions like secretion, photosynthesis, replacement of damaged tissues etc.
  • There's no lignin on walls of parenchyma tissue which makes it easily distinguishable from Collenchyma and Sclerenchyma.
  • It's living in nature.
