▪ Cells responsible for secretion of testosterone in male testis is.......

{ \underline{ \boxed{ \bold{ \purple{2) \: leydig \: cell}}}}}

Leydig cells, also known as interstitial cells of Leydig, are found adjacent to the seminiferous tubules in the testicle. They produce testosterone in the presence of luteinizing hormone (LH).

▪ Testosterone is a male sex hormone that is important for sexual and reproductive development.

this hormone belongs to the class ᴀɴᴅʀᴏɢᴇɴs

The secretion of testosterone is controlled by

▪ Functions of Testosterone....

⇛ development of mɑle sex orgɑns before birth.

⇛ development of secondɑry sex chɑrɑcteristics ɑt puberty, such ɑs voice deepening, increɑsed penis ɑnd testes size, ɑnd growth of fɑciɑl ɑnd body hɑir.

✏ Option (2)

Leydig cell are the kind of cells found in testes responsible for the secretion of testosterone(a Male hormone). They are also known as Interstitial cells. They are found in the interstitial spaces along with blood vessels.

✒The male reproductive organs includes a pair of testes, sperm ducts and an external genitalia(penis). The testes produces the male gametes and testosterone hormone.

✒The testes are situated outside the body that is outside our abdominal cavity within a pouch known as scrotum.

✒The scrotum helps in maintaining the suitable temperature that is a lower temperature than the environment(2-2.5 °C less).

✒The testes have nearly 250 compartment known as testicular lobules. These lobules contain seminiferous tubules that have the male germ cells or spermatogonia.

✒The male germ cells undergo meotic division and lead to the formation of sperm. There is another kind of cells known as sertoli cells which provides nutrition to the the male gametes.

✒ The region outside the seminiferous tubules are called interstitial spaces which contains small blood vessels and leydig cells or interstitial cells.

✒They synthesize and secrete testicular hormones called androgens which includes Testosterone also.
